5 Minute Meditation - Setting Intentions For Your Highest Good

5 Minute Meditation - Setting Intentions For Your Highest Good

Declaring your goals is setting intentions. It's a commitment to your path as you progress. You focus on who you are, what you do, and why you do it when you're intentional.

Setting effective intentions for your highest good can be as powerful as you want to make them. You have the freedom and power to become whoever you want to be in your life. You can create as many intentions for your life as you want when you consciously base them on your intentions.

So many of us try to “fix” what we don’t like about how we live our lives. That’s a negative and unproductive approach to living. We primarily focus on some future event or time that takes us out of living in the present moment.

What happens is that we are not living our best authentic life, and we're not enjoying each moment and not effectively creating the actual future we truly want.

To get you started manifesting your true intentions, here are some examples of clear intentions you can use or modify to get started:

I intend to lead by example at work and with my children today.
I intend to love all people unconditionally.
I intend to stop taking what is said to me personally.
I intend to manifest happiness naturally with joy and gratitude.
I intend to see the goodness around me in everyone and everything.
I intend to be kind even when I feel the pressure of life.
I intend to make someone smile every day.
I intend to forgive others and myself at all times freely.
I intend to make mindfulness an essential part of each day.
I intend to suspend judgment and accept life as it is now.

Tips For Writing A Higher Good Intention

  1. Affirm Only What You Want to indeed happen in your life.
  2. Write As If It Is Happening Now in this present time.
  3. Focus On The Feeling, and allow yourself to feel the exciting result. Even if it's a bit of a stretch in your belief system, it's ok to "fake it till you make it" with intentions.
  4. Check For The Words “Try” And “But”, If you intend to reduce stress, say something like, “I intend to invite peace and calm within myself today.” Avoid saying, “I will try to stop stressing today.”
  5. Begin and end With Gratitude; gratitude is a powerful and self-healing emotion. Begin using this in your life, the Universe will significantly reward you!
  6. Make It Believable. Instead of some distant, unachievable destination, you don't believe in, make your powerful intention for your higher good your new reality.

Make your goal adaptable and attainable as much as possible.

If you continue to have the same purpose day after day, week after week, your mind will eventually stop reacting to it. Therefore, keep the same purpose for a few days, and then rephrase it slightly, and see how it goes. (Never make a significant change to it.)

You can reframe your prior intention by stating something along the lines of "My intention is to enjoy the peace I create within myself." The objective is to perfect and improve the improvements by progressing through manageable baby stages rather than making big leaps.

There are a lot of people who are always trying to "fix" the things in their lives that they don't like. That is a rather pessimistic way of looking at things. They are also preoccupied with some time in the future, which removes them from the present moment. Because of this, they are not leading a real life, and as a consequence, they are not appreciating each and every moment of their existence.

MeditationLifeSkillsPodcast.com strives to present meditation concepts that connect east and west, tradition and science in a non-sectarian way, from multiple traditions, without promoting any particular technique or method.

One important principle I try to accomplish is to take complex ideas about meditation and the not-so-well understood meditation principles and help you understand how they can fit into your life.

To your success in meditation!
