What do Alpha waves do to the brain?

Alpha brainwaves are dominant during quietly flowing thoughts and in some meditative states. Alpha is "the power of now," being here, in the present.

Alpha is the resting state of the brain. Alpha waves aid overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind/body integration, and learning.

What are the 4 types of brain waves?

Our brain consists of 5 different types of brain waves; Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma brain waves. Each of these brain waves has a normal frequency range in which they operate.

The Alpha state is an intensely pleasurable and relaxed state of consciousness essential to stress reduction and high levels of creativity. Artists, musicians, and athletes are prolific alpha producers; so are intuitive persons, and so was Albert Einstein.

What are the benefits of alpha brain waves? Increasing alpha brain waves can stimulate creativity and minimize depression. Neuroscientists recently made a correlation between an increase of alpha brain waves—either through brainwave entrainment or mindfulness and meditation—and the ability to reduce depressive symptoms and increase creative thinking.

Alpha brainwave training is the gateway to deep meditation. When you’re in alpha you’re relaxed and creative. Your mind is open to new ideas and possibilities, a more internally focused, self-reflective mindset, such as what happens when we are daydreaming or meditating.

In other words, you need to slow down that busy monkey mind and develop robust alpha wave activity before you can reliably enter into the dreamlike theta state.

But nothing could be further from the truth. This self-love meditation will show you practical steps with regard to developing self-love. It will also explain what it is and outline the history of the trait and how it has been a core foundation of all spiritual teachings.

Self-love is the ultimate way to boost your self-esteem and become a fully healed and integrated human being. People often come to the idea backward. They look at attributes such as the way that a confident person walks or observes their traits.

But fundamentally, all radical change begins from within. You then start to really value yourself as a powerful creator of your own reality and deserving of love and respect from everybody. Selflove is the opposite of selfishness.

You cannot love another person unconditionally unless you love yourself first.

Self-love is not about engaging in destructive patterns of behavior and turning a blind eye. It has nothing to do with arrogance or narcissism and everything to do with becoming a fully whole and integrated individual.

When you are able to exercise self-love, your life will become so much easier. This is because you will not sabotage yourself as much, which is what everybody does with their beliefs about unworthiness.

You will also have much more stability in your life as you will no longer depend on others for fulfillment. Your emotions and reactions will not be volatile and you will actually become detached (but not uncaring) from a lot of stuff that goes on in the world.

Love is the ultimate building block of the entire universe. Humans are born into the arms of loving parents and die with their loved ones around them (ideally). They live and die by love alone.

In the words of Gautama Buddha: “In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you”

Your ability to love yourself and others is all that really matters. How to get there is another matter entirely. For this, you have to find out who you are and love yourself unconditionally.

Happiness and success are two mental states we’d all like to experience more often. These states rarely happen randomly on their own. It takes an intention to experience happiness and success, and the best way to manifest them is with an attitude that supports them.

An attitude of being grateful leads to effective actions and effective actions can lead you to happiness and success. If you’re focused on the positive things in your life, it’s a lot easier to experience happiness.

Your success in life can also come from gratitude. Gratitude has an almost magical power to bring more good things into your life. If you can feel grateful each day, you can expect to have good days ahead.

Guided Gratitude Meditation Script Beginning...

Appreciation meditation. Begin by sitting or lying in a comfortable position, placing your palms facing upwards, letting your shoulders roll back slightly to open up your chest, and gently closing your eyes as you just focus on your breath.

Notice how it flows naturally without you even needing to do anything to it. It's always keeping you alive, bringing in nutrients on the inhale, and releasing stale old energy on the exhale.

You don't have to think about it. You don't have to work at it. Your body just does this for you. It is life-giving. Let yourself feel a sense of appreciation, for your ability to breathe. How wonderful is it?

How easy, effortless, and natural, saying out louder in your mind. Thank you. To the air to your lungs. To your breath.

Take a nice deep slow breath to inhale through your nose feeling your stomach expand, holding your breath the top, and when you're ready, exhale with a sigh.

Let your awareness travel from your breath, as you let your breath just be natural, to thinking about your body in general.

Your ability to be here right now practicing this meditation, all the different working components in your body that are making this possible right now, there's so much to appreciate.

Let your cells begin to infuse with feelings of appreciation for your body. Think about all the things your body enables you to do that you love. No matter how big or small.

It could be as simple as hugging someone you love, eating a favorite meal. We're simply just being here right now.

Inner Self Meditation Script To Use With The 15 Minute Meditation Music

The beauty of this Inner Self Meditation is that it can be performed virtually anywhere. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or stressed, your Inner Self is waiting.

This type of meditation works best if you record your own voice or just use your memory.

Beginning Of Inner Self Meditation Script: Step 1: Arriving At Your Inner Self Space

Become still wherever you are—either lying, sitting, or standing, choose a posture to be as comfortable as possible, then lightly close your eyes.

Bring your Inner Self-awareness of whatever is going on in your life right now.

Give the weight of your body up to gravity.

Allow your weight to sink into the points of contact between your body and the floor, chair, or bed, whether that’s your feet, your buttocks, or your back.

What sensations are there, right now? If you notice any tension or resistance to painful or unpleasant sensations, gently turn toward them. Accept them as best you can. If you begin to tense around the breath, then let go and soften into gravity.

Notice any thoughts as they arise and pass away in the mind. See if you can let them come and go without becoming too identified with their content. Look at your thoughts, not from them. Observe them as if they were clouds in the sky. Relate to them as a flow of mental events. Remember, thoughts are not facts.

Notice any feelings and emotions as they arise. Can you let these come and go without pushing away those that you don’t like, or jumping onto those that you do like? Include everything within your awareness with a kindly perspective.

Step 2: Gathering Your Inner Self Awareness

Allow your awareness to gather around the experience of the breath in the body. Drop your awareness inside the breath and feel the different sensations in the front, back, and sides of the torso, inside the torso, and on the surface of the torso. Feel all of the different sensations of the breath as it flows into and out of the body.

Can you rest within the flow of your breath? Let everything change, moment by moment. Use the breath to anchor your awareness in the present moment and the body. Each time you notice your mind has wandered, gently bring the mind back to the breath deep in the body.
